La Paloma #164 was brought to the Bay Area in 1999 by James Hennefer. She was built by C.W. Hood Yachts in Marblehead, Massachusetts in that same year.

After La Paloma was built, the hull was used to create new mold for the fleet. That mold is currently being used to build the next generation of boats for the U.S.

La Paloma is actively raced as part of the San Francisco fleet. Her owner, James Hennefer, continues to race her in the StFYC Wednesday Night Series and as part of the SF IOD fleet.
